Redfish or ducks? Â Ducks or redfish? Â Decisions, decisions.
What a dilemma! Do we hunt then catch a limit of redfish or do we catch a limit of redfish then hunt? Decisions, decisions! Here's a short video of our ride to the blind as redfish dart out of our way. (Hard to see the ducks when they get up but there we a bunch) To experience problems like these, call us anytime at 985-791-4288 to book now.

Big red fish minutes from Lytle Farms
Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair. With a very short boat ride from Lytle Farms in Dularge, Anne and I caught our limit of big reds. Our secret? Market shrimp on a light colored soft body lure on the bottom at one of the dams along Falgout Canal. Beautiful day. Beautiful wife. Beautiful fishing. How can it get any better? Book now and we'll show you how by calling us at 985-791-4288 or going online at www.lytlefarms.com. See you soon!

Indigo Guide Service Lands Huge Drum on Flyrod
You've been asking about this so here it is. Kevin Morlock, half of the Indigo Guide Service team who is also an expert fly fishing guide, lands a huge drum near Pelican Lake in lower Terrebonne Parish on January 10 at around 2:30 pm. Sorry I missed the strike but you can get an idea of what its like landing a fish this size on a fly rod. All of the days catch were released back into the wild. I landed a smaller one later but what a ride. Kevin and Steve are at Lytle Farm

Introducing the breakfast part of our new bed and breakfast
The only thing better than waking up to a Dularge sunrise is waking up to a Dularge sunrise with one of Anne's famous breakfasts. Today begins the breakfast as Anne now offers a variety or breakfast offerings. Here's her breakfast frittata (egg, cheese, sausage) served in a cast iron skillet! Served hot at our rentals. Yum. We're booked for January but February dates are open. Check out our AIR BNB Listing #breakfast #BNB #Cooking

Low water, big reds
With temperatures in the 30s and winds out of the north, we are seeing a typical winter pattern of low water in the canals, bayous and ponds. This actually is a really special time to fish Dularge as the low water causes redfish to congregate in the deeper holes and channels. This means that when you find a deep hole, chances are good that these spots will be stacked with hungry redfish. Most any soft body bait with do either under a cork or off the bottom. Amazing views in unexpected places
One of the most amazing things about a stay at Lytle Farms is what you will see when you are least expecting it. The pictures in this post are from a late afternoon trip home on New Year's Eve after yet another successful day of duck hunting. The pictures are near the lower sections of Bayou Dularge, about a 10 minute ride by car from Lytle Farms, just as we reached "civilization" or the sections mostly dominated by our local commercial fishermen. In these images the sun is
